Ayurvedic Panchakarma Treatment for Cervical Spondylosis, Ankylosing Spondylosis, and Lumbar Spondylosis
Panchakarma treatment consists of five therapies that aim to detoxify and rejuvenate the body. These therapies also help in balancing the doshas (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha). Panchakarma treatment for cervical spondylitis and other types of spondyloses can provide relief from pain and inflammation, and help restore mobility. The panchakarma therapies used for these conditions are as follows:
- Abhyanga (therapeutic oil massage)
Abhyanga is highly effective in treating spondylitis and spondylosis conditions. In this treatment method, warm medicated oils are used to massage the body, which helps eliminate pain, stiffness, and inflammation.
- Swedana (steam therapy)
In this treatment method, steam treatment with herbal decoctions is used to help open up the body channels, reduce stiffness, and eliminate toxins. Common herbs used in this therapy are Dasha Moola and Nirgundi.
- Pizhichil (a therapeutic oil bath)
In this treatment therapy, the patient is required to do a therapeutic oil bath, which helps reduce pain, stiffness, and inflammation in the joints. Different ayurvedic oils are used in this treatment as per the patient’s condition.
Shaman Chikitsa
In addition to the above-mentioned panchakarma therapies, several herbs are used in the treatment process. Some of the ayurvedic herbs used in these treatment therapies are:
- Ashwagandha
Known for its anti-inflammatory properties, ashwagandha helps reduce stiffness and pain in the joints.
